Fans have a specific terminology for each of their components:

  •  País: textile.
  •  varillas (ribs): wood that can be painted or fretworked.
  •  caberas: first and last ribs thicker than the others.
  •  calado (fretwork): holes made in the ribs.
  •  abanico (fan): the assembly or the named elements.

Abanicos Malvi always use the best wood available for their pear tree wood fans, and first class textiles, 100% cotton, as well as a natural satin and sandpapering finishing -brushing-, that gives them that specific characteristic texture. Only those called "special fans" have a different wood or finishing. Each kind of fan here defined, appears with an illustrative photograph, being a sample of the group to which it belongs, since there is a wide range of colours and models.

FANS: in this section we treat fans as such of a specific size of 23 cm. or about.
Traditional textiles: the país (or textile) of these fans keeps the traditional proportions with regard to rib sizes.
Intermediate textile: fans of half size textiles as the traditionals ones but with longer ribs, so that at the end, we get the same measurements.
Without decoration: in similar sizes to the last ones, but they can be with or without fretwork.

Without decoration: in similar sizes to the last ones, but they can be with or without fretwork.
Short textiles: fans which have the textiles half-size as the intermediate ones and with exactly the same rib length, but being a bit shorter as a whole (21 cm.).
